CVIAA recently responded to the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications's discussion paper on Safer Freight Vehicles.
CVIAA supports the adoption of Option 2a– Increase the width limit to 2.6m for goods vehicles and trailers
over 4.5 tonnes, but has reservations regarding the madating of additional safety features without the necessary evidence justifying their inclusion.
